Kven is a Finno-Ugric minority language spoken by the Kven people in northern Norway. Among its young voices is M. Seppola Simonsen. The author has a bachelor's degree in English literature and Spanish, now studies development and environment in Oslo, and writes poetry in Norwegian. Their debut collection Hjerteskog/Syđänmettä, which came out last year, is about Kven language and identity, nature and the feeling of loss.
